Based on the idea that if more people start taking action when sexual harassment happens in their presence, we can end this epidemic.

HarassMap is a digital platform launched as a response to the persistent problem of sexual harassment on the streets of Egypt. The platform is based on the idea that if more people start taking action when sexual harassment takes place in their presence, the epidemic can be ended altogether. On the HarrasMap platform, individuals can report an incident indicating where and when it happened, and what kind of sexual harassment it was. The map gives an overview of where the platform has received reports of sexual harassment. The individual reports show the reality and scope of sexual harassment and assault in Egypt. This crowdsourced information is used for interventions and advocacy showing the scope of the problem. The platform also includes basic information about sexual harassment, how to respond to it, as well as directions for the users to take action, such as a report to the police, or get legal support if needed.
