Numerous app development efforts in Sabae, an open-data pioneer municipality, with active citizen involvement
The project is led by Taisuke Fukuno (inventor of IchigoJam and Digital Transformation Evangelist for the Cabinet Office). Since 2010, he has been advocating for open data in Sabae City, and has played a key role in promoting early municipal open data initiatives under the “Data City Sabae” concept. The project has developed and utilized various datasets and systems, including the library seat sensor “sabota,” 3D data, and bridge infrastructure data. In 2021, the initiative was expanded into Code for FUKUI.
