Demokratie-Wegweiser is a digital tool that connects citizens with the right political representatives based on their location.

Demokratie-Wegweiser began in late 2022 as a response to a growing gap between citizens and politics. While our democratic system offers participation, many people don't know who to turn to when they have a concern. We set out to change that. The platform launched in 2023 and is now available nationwide across Germany. It’s designed for all citizens—especially those who feel politically disconnected—offering a clear, easy-to-use digital map that shows who is politically responsible at their location. From the city council to the Bundestag, users can find their representatives and reach out directly. Our users include young people, teachers, activists, and everyday citizens. In schools, students have used the platform to invite local politicians into the classroom. In communities, it has reduced administrative workload by directing inquiries straight to the responsible people. People can support the project by spreading the word, integrating the tool into municipal websites, donating, or partnering with us on our mission: to make democratic participation simple, local, and real.
