A booklet documenting the use of legislative theater by Smes, a Belgian civil society organization focused on mental health and social inclusion.
The booklet tells the story of the legislative theater experience, which began with two sketches: one about a person experiencing homelessness who is turned away by health services, and a second about social workers trying to obtain psychiatric care for a person experiencing a suicidal crisis. After each sketch, audience members were invited to formulate recommendations; they generated more than 200 in total. Two panels of civil society representatives of government officials then each selected three proposals, which the audience then voted on.
