China Green Horizon is a project between Beijing’s municipal government and IBM Research to improve the accuracy of air quality assessments.

Using optical sensors, air quality monitors and satellites, China Green Horizon predicts where pollution will generate and how it is likely to spread. The project partners claim that this information informed policy and the allocation of USD 400 billion in investments toward pollution reduction between 2013 and 2017.
