DATA Uruguay is a civil society organization founded in April 2012 that works on open government, open data, access to public information and participation through the use of civic technology. It is a horizontal organization based on consensus and the vast majority of the projects are co-created with expert partners on the subject (Government, Academia, Media, other Civil Society organizations) or with the community.
DATA's mission is to contribute to a more just society through the use of open data and civic technology, based on three pillars; social tools for participation and the use of open data, strengthening communities and social activism.
