Safecity empowers communities worldwide to report and combat gender-based violence through crowd-sourced data and technology.
Safecity was founded in 2012 and has since then, become the largest crowdmap of Gender Based Violence in the world. It's designed for anyone who wants to combat gender-based violence, from individuals to community leaders, and even government institutions. Safecity has grown into a global movement and collected over 50,000 anonymous reports, mapping hotspots of violence to foster change. Safecity's cyclical approach of data collection, community engagement, and collaborative action empowers individuals, communities and institutions to create safer private and public environments. People can help by using the crowdmap, donating, volunteering, or supporting our advocacy efforts.
