This laboratory was formed as an effort to develop design methods and practices, which on the one hand are based on technological developments, and on the other, based on the development of social, cultural, and political issues and theories.
The **Design Ethnography Lab (**DE:Lab) is a research laboratory under the Human Expertise and Industrial Product Design Group, Faculty of Art and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology. This laboratory was formed as an effort to develop design methods and practices, which on the one hand are based on technological developments, and on the other, based on the development of social, cultural, and political issues and theories. It is open to researchers from within and outside ITB and undergraduate and postgraduate students to cultivate and develop design and ethnographic methods in their respective research. DE:Lab conducts various research activities on a regular basis, and seeks to implement them to the community with an emphasis on collaboration between the academic community, the private sector, and government. DE:Lab initiates and organizes various activities such as regular seminars on Design Dialogue, Design Study discussion forums, Blueprint podcasts, and Design Science Journal.
