OpenGovLoc, a digital transformation project, is a scaling-up operation in 4 priority municipalities and the involvement of 20 other municipalities in the use of digital technology to promote accountability and local participation led by young people.
The OpenGovLoc project was launched in October 2022. The project is aimed directly at : - 80 young people are directly involved via local support structures such as the National Youth Council of Cameroon (CNJC). - 68 communes are directly involved in at least one of the project's activities; - 10 regions are directly involved in at least one of the project's activities; - 25 communal administrations involved in at least one of the project's activities; And indirectly, the project is aimed at : 360 communes du pays seront impactées par au moins une des activités du projet; - 15,000 young people will be involved in at least one of the project's activities; - 10 ministries, including Mindevel, Minat, Minjec, Minpostel and Minac, will be affected by at least one project activity; - 58 departments will be affected by at least one project activity, in particular the study that will be carried out there; - 10 regions will be affected by at least one project activity, including the study that will take place there. The overall expected impact of this project on the community is to develop a form of collaboration and trust between local elected representatives and young people. People can help in the process of effectively scaling up the project's activities through funding.
