Phoenix, is a tool designed to support the work of peacebuilders and mediators working to reduce conflict in communities experiencing division or violence.

Our project, Phoenix, is a tool designed to support the work of peacebuilders and mediators working to reduce conflict in communities experiencing division or violence. It is an open-source, non-commercial platform enabling ethical monitoring of social media actors and content without requiring specialized technical skills. With Phoenix, peacebuilders can gather public posts and comments based on search parameters they define, classify social media accounts and the text of the posts and comments, including with simple AI-assisted tools, and visualize the data collected in an interactive dashboard with graphs and filters. Phoenix helps peacebuilders gain actionable insights to implement data-driven and responsive programs. For example, using Phoenix, community peacebuilders can find out which narratives in inter-group discourse are salient to design targeted trust-building initiatives.
