Free, open-source bilingual (EN/ES) tool that tells a Los Angeles renter which rent law protects them, their legal rent-increase cap, and whether a specific increase is legal — from their address (information, not legal advice).
RentRights (2026) is a free, open-source, bilingual (English/Spanish) tool for Los Angeles renters. From a street address it estimates which rent law applies — the City of LA's RSO, California's AB 1482, or LA County's ordinance — the current legal rent-increase cap, and whether a specific increase is legal. It runs on public records and dated legal figures, is deliberately labeled as information (not legal advice), stores nothing, and needs no sign-up. Code: github.com/writingdeveloper/rentrights
