VoteAmerica builds technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy for all eligible voters.

VoteAmerica is a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that uses technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy.

Our theory of change is simple: Americans don’t need to be convinced to vote, they need to be able to vote. We know that Americans will vote at higher rates, and more consistently, as voting becomes more convenient. We reject outright the idea that low voter turnout is due to voter apathy and instead acknowledge that low voter turnout results from decades of intentional voter suppression that works specifically to reduce turnout among the most economically and socially marginalized Americans. If we want to increase voter turnout, we need to systematically identify and remove roadblocks to voting.

We run programs, build technology, and conduct research to empower every eligible American (especially people of color, young adults, and unmarried women) to vote.

During the 2020 election cycle, VoteAmerica engaged over 30 million high-potential voters via data-driven, research-backed mobilization campaigns. We’re goal-oriented and tactic-agnostic, which allows us to pivot when necessary. As a result, we are often on the cutting-edge of the intersection of democracy and technology. We focus on strategic investments that pay dividends for decades to permanently increase voter turnout in America.
