Crime Brasil is a civic-tech open-data platform that consolidates and geocodes Brazilian public-safety data into a single searchable map and free REST API.
Coverage:
- Rio Grande do Sul: 2.99M individual crime incidents (2022-2026), 99.99% geocoded at neighborhood level, 497 municipalities, 79k unique neighborhoods.

- Minas Gerais: 965k violent-crime records at municipality level (2019-2026), SEJUSP-MG Dados Abertos.

- Rio de Janeiro: 37k ISP/CISP municipality-level records.

- Nationwide: PRF DATATRAN (500k highway-accident records, 2020-2026); DATASUS SINAN interpersonal violence (2009-2024, all 26 states + DF).
Free for all uses: CC BY 4.0, public REST API, CSV/Parquet downloads, daily updates from official sources. Built as a single-person project to give Brazilian journalists, researchers, and residents an easy way to explore public-safety data previously scattered across state portals.
