Veeto is a civic tech platform that turns small-dollar contributions into verified lobbying actions.
We connect everyday people with trusted advocates who meet with legislators, testify at hearings, and push for (or against) legislation – all transparently tracked and publicly documented. Thousands of bills move through Sacramento every year, quietly shaping our lives, yet most Californians have no meaningful influence over them. While we vote every few years, special interests hire lobbyists to shape our laws every day. In 2024 alone, **special interest groups spent $545 million lobbying **in California – $41 million by oil corporations, $39 million by utility companies, and $12 million by labor unions. Meanwhile, most of us don't even hear about critical legislation until it's too late to have an impact. California now has over 3,000 registered lobbyists – one lobbyist for every 12,000 residents. To put that into perspective, each state Assemblymember represents close to half a million people, and each Senator close to a million. This isn't just about money – it's about sustained and strategic advocacy that most citizens simply cannot access. That's why we built Veeto. Veeto is an advocacy marketplace that gives Californians a direct way to influence legislation when and where it matters – in committees and legislative offices in Sacramento. Our platform connects constituents who share common priorities, enabling them to start or join campaigns around active bills and pool small contributions (as little as $5) to fund advocates like you. As an advocate, you'll get paid to represent your community's shared values directly to lawmakers. We won't pretend small contributions will instantly outmuscle corporate lobbying. But when hundreds or thousands of Californians align their voices and resources at key legislative moments, lawmakers pay attention. Our goal is to encourage a more responsive legislative system – one that listens to the people who care to speak up, not just those with the deepest pockets.
