Lets citizens collaboratively draft and edit legislative texts, as well as upvote and downvote individual clauses

Wikilegis is a tool developed by the Laboratório Hacker da Câmara dos Deputados (lit. Hacker of the Chamber of Deputies Laboratory) in 2016, after the e-Democracy platform (created in 2009) was updated. Wikilegis aims to be a wiki for collaborative legislation generated by citizens that is an easily-modified and accessible web tool that aims to increase the active citizen participation in the legislative process. People can participate by sending suggested amendments or comments on bills and proposals in course, or by supporting or not supporting a proposal (legislative or citizen initiative), by means of an icon of endorsement ("joia"). In January 2017, Wikilegis had nine closed and four open debates, with a level of participation ranging between 10 to 140 interactions per legislative proposal. There is, however, no consolidated information nor means of access to the contents of the previous version of the e-Democracy platform.
