Join Boston Area Research Initiative for a public conversation centered on the opportunities and challenges of installing kiosks throughout the city.
Our goal is to open the conversation regarding Smart Cities projects in order to truly understand what it means to be a "smart city." Often such projects think about technology first and only then establish the problems they are trying to solve. We want to flip this process in Boston, incorporating the voices of community members and leaders from the outset. Attendees will have the chance to:
learn more about kiosks–what they do, what they look like, how they work;
hear from kiosk makers about their technology and the public value kiosks could bring to Boston residents;\*
hear about challenges and opportunties kiosks present by members of the academic and non-profit community;\\
have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q+A.
Join us on December 11th, from 6-8pm, at the Codman Square Health Center Great Hall to learn more about kiosks and what they mean for you. Event is free and open to all!
\*Kiosk makers will include representatives from CIVIQ, Intersection, LG-MRI, Soofa, and Verizon
\_\_Panel respondents are Eric Gordon, Engagement Lab; Kade Crockford, ACLU
